Mepra Stile 22 cm Colander Insert by Pininfarina

Description

Stile Colander Insert for Pots, Ø22 cm, by Pininfarina

There’s a moment, while the water is boiling, when the difference between just any utensil and a well-designed object becomes perfectly clear. The Mepra colander insert was created for this very purpose: it fits inside the Stile Ø22 cm / 8.66 in pot and allows you to lift out pasta or vegetables without draining everything into the sink and without getting soaked in steam up to your elbows. The design bears the signature of Pininfarina, which collaborated with Mepra—a historic manufacturer of stainless steel cutlery and cookware since 1947—on the lines of the Stile set.

What is the colander insert used for?

Its function is as simple as it is useful: cook pasta, rice, or vegetables directly in the pot, then lift out the perforated insert, leaving the cooking water behind. Anyone who works in the kitchen—whether at home or in a restaurant—knows how much time (and how many burns avoided) this step saves. The stainless steel it’s made of withstands daily use and retains its shiny appearance over time.

Compatibility with Stile Ø22 cm pots

The 22 cm / 8.66 in diameter is calibrated to fit perfectly into pots from the Stile by Pininfarina line of the same diameter, ensuring the insert sits securely without slipping during cooking. It is suitable for home use, as well as for restaurants, hotels, and catering services, where efficiency in the kitchen is just as important as aesthetics in the dining room.

Materials and Long-Term Care

The stainless steel construction is built to last, with a design that reflects the clean, recognizable style of the entire Stile collection. It is dishwasher-safe—a feature that’s not always a given for those seeking a product that’s both elegant and easy to maintain.
