Batucada Series Lamp from the Decò Collection
The hypnotic percussiveness of Carioca rhythms is achieved through the use of primordial instruments: the hands. Precisely to pay homage to the hands of Black slaves—the first Brazilian percussionists, capable of “batucar” the drums and making people dance in a blend of music and religion—Batucada seems to want to hold the light source, that precious source of light, between two hands, concealing or revealing it as needed.
